Tournament Outline

Tournament System

The winner will be determined through a single-elimination tournament with 4 participants.

Match Format

All matches: 5-point matches
Clock: 10 minutes & 12 seconds delay
Eligible for JBS rating matches

Schedule

Registration period: April 1, 2025, to April 28, 2025 (pre-registration only)
Satellite tournament: May 3, 2025

Eligibility

Participants must meet all of the following conditions:

  1. Must be a JBS member (associate members and visitors are not eligible).
  2. Must have completed pre-registration for either the "53rd Japan Open" or the "Intermediate 2025."

Note: To ensure the number of participants is a multiple of 4, the last 1 to 3 applicants may be canceled. We appreciate your understanding.

Entry Procedure

Please register during the pre-registration period for the "53rd Japan Open."

Participation Process

Player Registration Confirmation

The list of participants will be finalized by May 1, 2025.
Please ensure your name is listed on this special website.
If your name is not listed, your registration is incomplete.
Please contact the event committee immediately.

Event Participation

The first round is scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM on May 3, 2025.
Please check the match schedule and arrive at the designated board by 10:55 AM.
Matches will begin as soon as both players are ready.

Winners should report their results to the event committee.
Participants will be eliminated after one loss.

Refund for Qualifiers

Qualifiers will receive a refund of their entry fee.
Please visit the "BACKGAMMON FESTIVAL" general reception to claim your refund.

Note: Participants who pre-registered for the "Intermediate 2025" and qualify through the satellite tournament will not be able to re-enter the "Intermediate 2025 Day 2 Qualifiers" after being eliminated from the "53rd Open." We appreciate your understanding.
